Summary:
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the physical integrity, general maintenance, repairs, safety, and preventative maintenance for all Village Centers facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
This involves ensuring a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for clients, residents, staff, and anyone else working or visiting the property.
This team member works under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
The Village Centers is a nonprofit founded in 2000 with a mission to enhance the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and support them in reaching their full potential.

Responsibilities:
Diagnose and perform minor, routine maintenance and repairs daily Perform all needed repairs and services Take vehicles to mechanics for necessary inspections, maintenance, and repairs as required Report all needs and major repairs to Maintenance Manager Keep status of inventory levels of parts and supplies and keep Maintenance Manager informed Communicates with Manager for needed technical advice, product information, research and quality assurance guidance Interacts with clients, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
Perform any additional duties as assigned Physical Demands Able to lift 35 lbs Able to be in prolonged hot and/or cold weather Kneeling, squatting, crawling, and stooping Prolonged periods of walking, standing, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling Qualifications & Requirements Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills Good physical condition and strength High school diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License Job Type:
